Theme : Vibrational spectroscopy of switchable molecular materials

Background : the project, funded by the network “Advanced Materials in Aquitaine”, involves several laboratories in physics and chemistry aiming in producing new Switchable Molecular Materials for Information and Communication Technologies (SMICTs).

Project description : The objective of this work is to determine, by means of vibrational spectroscopy, the mechanisms involved in the photoswitches at the centre of a thermal hysteresis of spin crossover molecular materials. A further objective is to study the influence of the insertion of spin crossover complexes in a polymer medium, especially with the process « screen-printed thick films », on the molecular switching and photoswitching properties.

Skills : The candidate should be a physico-chemist with strong background in infrared and Raman spectroscopic techniques.
